Tashkent, Aug.4, 2019. /Kabar/. Opening ceremony of a new unique geological route for tourists - a visit to the Kitob Geological Reserve - was held in Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Committee of Tourism Development said.
“We hope that after this forum the reserve will be open for everyone and tourists from all over the world see this place", acting First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Ulugbek Kasimkhodjayev said.
“Our task is to present this geological section to the whole world and show its importance for science, history, culture and, in this case, for tourism,” Ilkhom Turamuratov, Advisor to Chairman of the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources said.
The Zinzilban section of the Kitob Reserve is recognized by the international community as the only complete standard in the world - the Ems soleplate standard - and has been open only to scientists for many years.
This is one of the few unique geological monuments of the Earth's appearance from the world ocean 410 million years ago.
