Uzbekistan proposes to Russian investors project on COVID-19 vaccines

Tashkent, Dec. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan proposed to investors from Russia to establish production of immunobiological vaccines, including against coronavirus on the basis of a pharmaceutical cluster in Tashkent, the Uzbek Agency of Pharmaceutical Industry said on Monday.

This proposal was voiced last Friday during a round table between business circles of the two countries. The event was organized in the framework of the visit of Russian Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov to Uzbekistan.

According to preliminary data, the production is planned to be located on the territory of Tashkent Pharma Park in the capital of Uzbekistan. In accordance with business plan, it is planned to prepare the feasibility study of the project by April 2021, and in June next year - to start its implementation.

Uzbekistan has reported 74,053 coronavirus cases so far along with 71,315 (96%) recoveries.

The republic death toll from COVID-19 stands at 611.

Currently, 2,027 patients are receiving treatment.
