Tashkent, March 27, 2018 / Kabar /. Uzbekistan is ready on its territory to create conditions for negotiations between the Taliban and the government of Afghanistan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the opening of the Tashkent International Conference on Afghanistan.
"Sharing the common responsibility for the peaceful future of Afghanistan, and relying on the traditionally friendly relations of the Uzbek and Afghan peoples, we are ready to create, at any stage of the peace process, all the necessary conditions for organizing direct talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban in Uzbekistan," Mirziyoyev said.
Mirziyoyev added that in case of participation of the opposition of Afghanistan in the peace negotiations and the achievement of national reconciliation, all conditions for its integration into the political life of the country should also be created.
The Uzbek President indicated that opposition representatives, including the Taliban, being part of the Afghan society and citizens of Afghanistan, have the right to vote in determining the future of their country.
The international high-level conference on security in Afghanistan was named "Peace Process, Security Cooperation and Regional Cooperation". The event is held at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
