Uzbekistan receives another 70 thsd doses of Sputnik V vaccine

Tashkent, June 11, 2021 . / Kabar /. 70,000 doses of the second component of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine arrived in Uzbekistan on Thursday, the press service of the republic’s Health Ministry said.

On June 1, Uzbekistan received 70,000 doses of the first component of the vaccine and 100,000 doses of Sputnik V in April.

A vaccination campaign against coronavirus began in Uzbekistan on April 1. Residents are currently being vaccinated with AstraZeneca, a recombinant vaccine from China's Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutica, and the Russian Sputnik V.

Currently, more than 1.3 million people have been vaccinated in the country. By the end of this year, that number could rise to 7 million, or about 20% of the country's population.
