Uzbekistan, Russia intend to establish joint investment fund

Tashkent, Dec. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) offered partners from Uzbekistan to create a joint Uzbek-Russian investment fund, First Deputy CEO of RDIF Anatoly Braverman said on Friday at a round table with the participation of business circles of the two countries, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.

According to him, such funds exist with partners of Russia from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, China and Japan.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov stated the parties need to define priorities and directions of work of such structure.

In his turn, Russia's Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said each of the countries has specifics when creating this fund.

"In the end, it still leads to additional income of sovereign funds," the minister added.

In October 2018, Uzbekistan and the UAE have created a direct investment fund worth $ 1 billion.
