Uzbekistan starts mass vaccination of persons over 18 yo

Tashkent, July 5, 2021 . / Kabar /. According to a decision of the Special Republican Commission, voluntary vaccination against coronavirus for people over 18 will start in all regions of Uzbekistan, the press service of the republic's Health Ministry said.

Vaccination is available at primary health care facilities. Regardless of the type of higher educational institutions, vaccinated students will be given a one-time discount of 10% of the base payment of the contract for 2021-2022 academic year.

As of today, 2.4 million Uzbekistanis have received the first component of various vaccines, and more than 4 million doses of vaccines have been used. The total vaccine reserve is more than 7 million doses.

As of July 4, Uzbekistan's tally of coronavirus infection cases has amounted to 113,072 (+475), with 109,068 patients cured (96%) and 751 (+4) deaths.
