Tashkent, July 12, 2024. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan will invest $255 million in the authorized capital of a joint project company for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, according to the website of the National Database of Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Lex.uz).
As indicated in the document, the formation of part of the share of the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the authorized capital of the Joint Project Company "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" is carried out through loans from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of 255 million US dollars, allocated in stages to JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yollari".
$14 million will be allocated in 2024.
Loans are provided for a period of 15 years, including a grace period of 7 years, with an annual interest rate of 5%.
In accordance with the Cooperation Agreement for the joint implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, signed in Beijing on June 6, 2024, a joint project company is being created in Kyrgyzstan in accordance with local legislation. China's share in the company will be 51%, Kyrgyzstan - 24.5% and Uzbekistan - 24.5%.
