Uzbekistan to launch production of mini trucks under Chinese brand

Tashkent, July 23, 2020. /Kabar/. An entrepreneur from Namangan starts manufacturing mini trucks under the Chinese Shangan brand name in the Namangan Free Economic Zone. The first mini trucks will leave the assembly line in early 2021, Podrobno.uz reported today.

The production of Namangan Shangan Motors is being created under the Compatriots Abroad project, which is being implemented Namangan entrepreneur Jobirhon Hamidov, who has lived in the UAE for the last 10 years.

The cost of the project is $5.8 million, of which $800,000 were invested by the entrepreneur, $2 million are foreign investments and $3 million are bank loans.

The company plans to start with production of 1800 mini trucks per year. The production will employ 120 people. Within three years, one third of the mini trucks produced will be exported to the UAE and Central Asian states.

The Namangan Free Economic Zone was established by presidential decree in August 2018. Its territory covers 681 hectares. Now 18 projects worth $601 million are being implemented here.
