Uzbekistan to open Consulate General in Osh

Tashkent, Dec. 17, 2018. / Kabar /. Uzbekistan plans to open a Consulate General in Kyrgyzstan’s southern capital city of Osh in the near future, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan posted information on its official website on the Internet.

Thanks to the open and good-neighborly policy of Uzbekistan, carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a new, healthy political climate has been established in Central Asia, a friendly atmosphere and favorable conditions for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the states of the region have been restored. There were exchanges of visits at the highest level with all the countries of Central Asia, the report said.

As a result, it was possible to find mutually acceptable solutions to the most complex, confusing issues, such as the rational use of water resources, delimitation and demarcation of borders, crossing border points and the development of border trade. Today, there are only 64 checkpoints across the state border of Uzbekistan with neighboring countries.

Thanks to the solution of border problems, trade and economic, border relations and contacts between Uzbekistan and the states of Central Asia have become significantly more active. The average increase in turnover with neighbors for 9 months of this year. amounted to more than 50%.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is planned to open a consulate general in the cities of Guangzhou (China), Aktau (Kazakhstan) and Rostov-on-Don (Russia).
