Bishkek, March 26, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to open the Kaitpas and Otukchu checkpoints for the movement of persons, vehicles and minibuses up to 20 seats, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev said Friday during a press conference.
The agreement, reached as part of talks between the government delegations on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, will enter into force on Apr. 1, 2021.
"However, the passage will be closed for trucks," Tashiev said.
In addition, the chairman of the Committee for National Security noted the sides agreed to put in order and restore the Kara-Suu, Bek-Abad, Yntymak, Ken-Sai and Seidikum checkpoints.
