Tashkent, Feb.5, 2020. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan’s delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, will take part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Turkic Council, the press service of the Uzbek MFA said.
The meeting of foreign ministers of the Turkic Council will be held on Feb.6 in Azerbaijan’s capital city of Baku.
During its stay in Baku, the Uzbek delegation is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of delegations, participating in the meeting of the Council of FMs.
Uzbekistan has officially joined the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, also known as the Turkic Council.
The decision to admit Uzbekistan to this group was adopted on Oct.15, 2019 at the Summit of member states in Baku.
The Turkic Council is an international organization that unites modern Turkic states, the main goal of which is to develop comprehensive cooperation among member states.
The organization was established on Oct.3, 2009 in the city of Nakhchivan in Azerbaijan.
At present, the members of the Council are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
