Tashkent, Nov. 4, 2020. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan and Ukraine intend to strengthen joint efforts to expand and diversify mutual trade and ensure its growth to USD 1 billion a year in the near future.
This became known after a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Affairs Sardor Umurzakov and Ukrainian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Nikolay Doroshenko, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade said on Wednesday.
The parties see significant prospects for cooperation between the countries in industrial cooperation in the chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical, food, pharmaceutical industries and information technology. The initiative to establish industrial cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering and production of oil and gas equipment was also considered.
Uzbekistan and Ukraine plan to strengthen cooperation in the sphere of agriculture by creating joint agro-industrial enterprises for growing and processing of demanded crops.
“As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish a joint working group consisting of heads of relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries to prepare proposals on expanding investment, industrial, trade and economic cooperation,” the report says.
