Bishkek, June 20, 2020. /Kabar/. The total foreign debt of Uzbekistan following the results of the first quarter has grown on 2,8 %, and has made USD 25,1 billion.
Of these, the state debt is USD 16.2 billion, while the private sector's debt makes USD 8.9 billion, the press service of the Central Bank of the republic said.
In January-March, the state debt also maintained a growth trend.
"This process is explained by the attraction of new foreign borrowing to mitigate the social and economic impact of the crisis caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus, as well as the financing of government programs for the development of economic sectors and regions," reads the report.
As for Apr.1, 2020 the net international investment position of Uzbekistan made up USD 13.8 billion.
