Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published regulations for entry and stay of its nationals in Turkmenistan.
In particular, Uzbekistan nationals are not allowed to bring in naswai (chewing tobacco) into Turkmenistan since it is included in the list of banned substances and smoke it in public places.
“Drivers of Uzbekistan’s vehicles who provide international cargo transportation services are obliged to register only at the border checkpoints of Turkmenistan’s State Border, if their period of stay does not exceed 5 days while transporting goods to towns and villages including at the place of destination”, — the public release by the press relations service quoted by “Sputnik-Uzbekistan” says.
If a driver’s duration of stay in the country exceeds five days, they are obliged to register within 15 days.
In case migration rules are violated, a fine of 1330 manats ($380 using the official rate or $74 at the “black market” rate), as well as a person will be deported from the country for a period of 2 to 5 years.
