Uzbekistan's GDP up by 3% in first quarter of 2021

Tashkent, April 21, 2021 . / Kabar / . Uzbekistan's GDP growth in the first quarter amounted to 3% compared to the same period of the previous year, the State Statistics Committee of the republic said.

For three months, the index of physical volume of industrial production rose by 3.8%. Last year, the increase was 1.9%. Growth in agriculture made 3.1% (in 2020 - 3.9%), construction rose 0.5%, 6 points less than last year. Services grew by 5.8% (in 2020 - 9.9%).

As of April 1, 2021 the number of permanent population of the country was 34.69 million, which is almost 2% more than a year earlier.

Earlier it was reported that in 2020, GDP of Uzbekistan grew by 1.6%. The Central Bank of the republic predicted the growth of real GDP in 2021 by 4.5 - 5.5%.
