Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves exceed USD 32 bln

Tashkent, July 24, 2020. /Kabar/. As of July 1, Uzbekistan's official reserve assets totaled $32.3 billion, the press service of the Central Bank of the republic said.

Most of the reserves are stored in the form of monetary gold - $19.4 billion and foreign currency - $12.4 billion. At the beginning of the year, the figure was $29.1 billion.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov said Uzbekistan's gold and foreign currency reserves have increased by $3 billion over the past three years.

"In the last 3 years, unprecedented reforms have been undertaken in Uzbekistan. Therefore, Uzbekistan's economic growth indicators in recent years are among the highest in the world. All these high growth indicators are confirmed by international economic and financial organizations. What does such economic growth lead to? It leads to an increase in the country's financial and economic power," he said.
