Tashkent, Aug. 28, 2020. /Kabar/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree "On pardoning a group of people serving a sentence of imprisonment, sincerely repenting their deeds and firmly embarked on the path of correction," UzA agency reported.
The decree pardoned 113 citizens serving sentences for committing a crime.
Of the pardoned 5 persons, 53 are fully exempt from serving the main sentence, 53 have been released from serving their sentence on parole, the sentence imposed on 15 persons has been replaced with a softer one. In addition, the sentences of deprivation of liberty imposed on 40 persons have been reduced.
Within the framework of implementation of the Decree, the responsible ministries and departments have been instructed to return the pardoned persons to their families and relatives, assist them in social adaptation, involve them in useful work, choose a healthy lifestyle and take a worthy place in society.
