Vaccination against COVID-19 to start in April in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, March 24, 2021. / Kabar / . In Uzbekistan, vaccination against coronavirus in Uzbekistan will start on Apr. 1, Deputy Head of the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Nurmat Atabekov said, the press service of the Uzbek Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

On March 17, Uzbekistan received the first batch of 660,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX program.

Earlier, the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health published a list of categories of citizens who will receive the vaccine free of charge. These are people at risk of spreading the infection: the elderly, doctors, teachers and law enforcement officers.

It is planned to introduce special certificates for citizens vaccinated.
