Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2018. /Kabar/. A resident of Kyrgyzstan, Valentina Shevchenko won the fight for the UFC champion title.
The fight took place Sunday in Toronto (Canada) as part of the UFC 231 tournament.
Shevchenko defeated her rival from Poland Joanna Jędrzejczyk in the flyweight.
Shevchenko thanked the fans from Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the CIS countries for their support.
“This is a victory for my coach, manager, my team. I want to say thanks to all my fans, separate greetings to Kyrgyzstan and Russia,” she told after the victory.
Shevchenko said she was happy to win the belt in the battle with Joanna.
“She is a professional, very responsible. And if Nicco Montaño, Sijara Eubanks had won, this would not have been as significant as the victory over the ex-queen,” Shevchenko noted, saying hi to Latin American fans, her homeland Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
