Vast majority of Kyrgyz citizens test negative for COVID-19 after returning from Turkey

Bishkek, Apr. 18, 2020. /Kabar/. 198 Kyrgyz citizens, who have arrived from Istanbul, tested negative for COVID-19 coronavirus infection, Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Health Minister Nurbolot Usenbayev said at a briefing today.

"On the eve 211 our citizens have arrived in Bishkle from Istanbul. All of them were placed for observation and tests were taken from all of them. The tests of 198 citizens showed a negative result. The remaining 13 are still being tested in the laboratory. We expect the results to be ready by lunch today," he said.

To date, a total of 130 patients have recovered and been discharged throughout the country. Five have passed away.

On Apr. 18, another 17 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been identified in Kyrgyzstan, bringing the total to 506.

Of these, 116 are cases of medical personnel infection.
