Vice Prime Minister Razakov meets UN Resident Coordinator Ojielo

Bishkek, Oct. 11, 2018. /Kabar/. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jenish Razakov met with UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Ozonnia Ojielo, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government Office reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of interaction between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN development programs in the framework of the country's judicial and legal reform.

The Vice Prime Minister noted that the UN has for many years been a constant and reliable partner of the country, rendering assistance in various sectors of the economy.

He said that one of the clearest examples of mutually beneficial cooperation is the support provided by the UN in the ongoing judicial and legal reform.

In turn, Ozonnia Ojielo stressed that the UN pays special attention to the provision of assistance to the Kyrgyz side in ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.

He told about the projects being implemented by the UN within the framework of judicial-legal reform, and also expressed readiness to study the issue of providing further assistance to the republic to achieve the goal set in the framework of the ongoing reform.

During the meeting, further prospects for cooperation in the implementation of changes in criminal law, including the establishment of a probation institute, the creation of the Unified register of crimes and misconduct and the Unified register of violations, the provision of expert and technical assistance were discussed.

In addition, the side agreed to discuss further steps aimed at consolidating joint efforts in the framework of ongoing judicial and legal reform at the expert level.
