Vice Prime Minister Sabirov meets with head of IDB regional office Ibrahim Shoukry

Bishkek, Jan. 6, 2021 / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ravshanbek Sabirov met with the Head of the Regional Office of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Ali Shoukry, the press service of the Kyrgyz government reported.

During the meeting, held in the format of video conferencing, Ravshan Sabirov noted that the Islamic Development Bank is a strategic partner of the Kyrgyz Republic, providing significant support to the country in many key development issues.

The vice prime minister expressed special gratitude to the bank for its assistance in the implementation of measures to combat coronavirus infection.

In turn, Ibrahim Shoukry noted that the financial institution plans to continue fruitful cooperation with the country's leadership in the implementation of joint projects.

In particular, he noted the readiness of the Islamic Development Bank to consider the possibility of participating in the promotion of the Islamic Bank.

During the meeting, Ravshan Sabirov noted the importance of the measures taken by the government of the Kyrgyz Republic to mitigate the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, in particular, to support small and medium-sized businesses through the "Financing of Entrepreneurship Entities" Program.

The Kyrgyz vice prime minister invited the Islamic Development Bank to take an active part in this program. This proposal found understanding and support from the financial institution.
