Victims of mass food poisoning in Kyrgyzstan increase to 300

Bishkek, Oct. 28, 2021 / Kabar /. The total number of people with food poisoning who asked for medical help in the health care organization in Bishkek and Chui Oblast increased to 300, head of the food hygiene department of the Central State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service Makhamat Murzashev told Kabar Agency.

He said that 40 of them receive inpatient care, five of them are children.

“The condition of the hospitalized citizens is assessed as moderate and severe, but there is no one in the intensive care unit, they receive treatment in the infectious diseases wards,” he noted.

Murzashev noted that many of the victims said that they had eaten sushi rolls from the Pizza Empire cafe chain through a home order.

Mass food poisoning has occurred in the popular cafe chain Pizza Empire in Kyrgyzstan's capital on Oct. 23.

In connection with the latest case of mass food poisoning in Bishkek, specialists from the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Centers will inspect food outlets throughout the country.
