The ceremonial meeting of the Victory relay was held at the Osh Oblast department of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
“The arrival of the symbol of the Victory relay in Osh is an important event for residents of our city and region, because relatives from almost every family went to the front,” said Colonel Ilgiz Talipov, head of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh. – Meeting the Victory relay, we pay tribute to those who first met the enemy, those who died on the battlefield, those who survived and returned to build a new life. "
The international action dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War started on February 5 in two directions at once - in the cities of Brest (Belarus) and Murmansk (Russia) and runs along the external borders of the CIS member states.
On the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the Victory relay is held from May 2 to 7 in the cities of Bishkek and Osh.
On May 7, border guards of Kyrgyzstan will hand over the Victory relay symbol to the Tajik border guards at the Bordobo checkpoint.
A large-scale military-patriotic action Victory relay will finish on May 28 in Moscow at the memorial complex "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier."
