Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived on a two-day state visit to Uzbekistan. He was met at the Tashkent airport by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kun.uz reported.
“During the negotiations, it is intended to discuss the current state and prospects for the further development of Russian-Uzbek relations of strategic partnership and alliance,” the Kremlin said in a statement.
An exchange of views on current regional issues is also planned. The heads of state will take part in the first meeting of the Council of Regions.
Following the visit, it is expected that a substantial package of bilateral documents will be signed.
