Volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan declines by 17.9%: statistics

Bishkek, April 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . In January-March 2021, Kyrgyzstan’s volume of industrial production made about KGS 73 billion, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee Azamat Orosbayev said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Compared to January-March 2020, the volume of industrial production decreased by 17.9% due to the reduction of production of basic metals and finished metal products, except machinery and equipment - by 38.4%, chemical products - by 27.8%, textile production, production of clothes and shoes, leather and leather products - by 14.6%, as well as mining of minerals - by 18.1%.

"In January-March 2021, negative trends were observed in construction, where the decline in volumes amounted to 19.8%, wholesale and retail trade - 11.4%. Meanwhile, agriculture, on the contrary, showed a 0.9% growth in volumes during this period," said Orosbayev.
