Volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan increases by 2.7% in 2023

Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2024. /Kabar/. The volume of industrial production in January-December 2023 amounted to about 483 billion soms and increased by 2.7% compared to January-December 2022, Chairman of the National Statistics Committee Baktybek Kudaibergenov told at a briefing in Bishkek.

According to his data, the growth was observed due to an increase in production volumes of rubber, plastic products and building materials - by 1.7 times, pharmaceutical products - by 34.9%, wooden and paper products, printing activities by 19.6%, in textile production, production of clothing and footwear, leather and leather products by 19.2%, chemical products by 11.8%, refined petroleum products by 8.9%, food products (including drinks) and tobacco products by 5.7%, as well as in mining minerals by 3.1%.

Positive trends were observed in wholesale and retail trade, where the increase in volumes amounted to 17.7 percent, as well as in construction - 10.3 percent.
