Bishkek, April 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . A voting on the new draft of Kyrgyzstan’s Constitution is taking place in the Kyrgyz Embassies in China and the Republic of Korea, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported on Sunday.
A nationwide vote on the new draft of the Constitution and the local council elections is being held in Kyrgyzstan today. Kyrgyzstanis abroad will not be able to vote for local council elections. A total of 48 polling stations will be opened abroad.
"As part of the implementation of voting rights of Kyrgyz citizens living in China, a polling station # 9040 was opened on April 11 at 8:00 a.m. local time in the building of the Kyrgyz Embassy in China,” the report said.
The polling station will be open until 8:00 p.m. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, voting is conducted in compliance with appropriate sanitary and epidemiological safety measures.
In addition, a polling station # 9042 was opened at 8:00 a.m. Seoul time in the building of the Kyrgyz Embassy in the Republic of Korea.
"A citizens of Kyrgyzstan who are on consular registry in the Embassy are already taking part in the voting with the norms of social distance since the opening of the polling station,” the Kyrgyz MFA’s press service said.
