Tashkent, Nov. 28, 2021 . / Kabar / . A polling station, organized at the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan for voting in the elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh started its work at 8:00 a.m., Kabar News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Tashkent.
Considering the ongoing coronavirus infection pandemic and influenza epidemic, the voting was organized with observation of the relevant sanitary and epidemiological safety measures. In particular, visitors' temperatures are measured at the entrance to the building and medical masks are distributed.
In accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, the polling station will be open until 8:00 p.m. local time.
The parliamentary elections are being held in Kyrgyzstan by using a mixed electoral system. 54 deputies are to be elected according to the proportional system in single electoral constituencies, while 36 deputies are to be elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.
Earlier the parliament of Kyrgyzstan consisted of 120 deputies elected for a five-year term according to party lists.
