Bishkek, July 10, 2024. / Kabar/. A station for sorting and processing municipal solid waste has been launched in Osh city of Kyrgyzstan.
The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center reported that the implementation of the PPP project was approved by Cabinet of Ministers and is being implemented in the “project sandbox” mode, where the public partner is the Mayor’s Office of Osh, and the private partner is Taza Complex LLC.
The project is aimed at improving the sanitary and environmental condition of the city of Osh, reducing carbon emissions and pollution, creating “green” jobs available to women and men, a favorable environment for life and health of the population, increasing the efficiency of use of energy, resources and ecosystem services, as well as attracting private investment and developing the city's infrastructure.
The project is being implemented in two stages.
The first stage involves the construction of a solid waste sorting station. The construction of this station has been completed; the second stage envisages the creation of an eco-technopark for advanced processing.
The estimated amount of investment under the PPP project, which the private partner undertakes to attract, is more than 95 million soms.
The company will create more than 80 jobs.
The “project sandbox” regime is a special regulatory regime that regulates the procedure for pilot implementation of PPP projects introduced by an interested party.
