Ways to preserve population of snow leopards in Kyrgyzstan discussed in Germany

Bishkek, Feb. 18, 2021 / Kabar /. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Berlin hosted a meeting between Kyrgyz Ambassador to Germany Erlan Abdyldayev and Executive Director of Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) of Germany Leif Miller.

During the meeting, the ambassador expressed gratitude to the Union for the many years of fruitful cooperation and implementation of NABU projects in the field of nature protection in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

"Particular attention was paid to the opening of a new rehabilitation center in Kyrgyzstan for the conservation of the population and protection of the habitat of the snow leopard," the report said.

In addition, the interlocutors also exchanged views on the main directions of regional environmental cooperation and noted the importance of solving problems to ensure environmental security in Central Asia.
