WB to allocate $5 mln to Kyrgyzstan to finalize feasibility study for construction of Kambarata HPP-1

Bishkek, Nov. 14, 2023 / Kabar /. The Ministry of Finance and the World Bank signed a Financing Agreement for the project “Technical Assistance for the Kambarata HPP-1 Construction Project” for a total amount of $5 million.

According to the department, on behalf of Kyrgyzstan the Agreement was signed by Minister of Finance Almaz Baketaev, and on behalf of the World Bank - by the head of the World Bank office in the Kyrgyz Republic Naveed Hassan Naqvi.

The project will be aimed at supporting the implementation of the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project by updating and finalizing its existing feasibility study.

Also at the meeting, ongoing projects in the energy sector were discussed, as well as next steps to implement new potential investment projects.
