Bishkek, Nov. 3, 2021 . / Kabar /. A solemn signing of a memorandum of understanding between the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan and the World Customs Organization took place on Wednesday.
The document was signed by Chairman of the agency Adilet Kubanychbekov and Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kunio Mikuriya.
The ceremony, attended by representatives of diplomatic missions in Kyrgyzstan, offices of international organizations, and the media, also included a presentation of the WCO regional training center, the status of which was given to the regional training and specialized canine unit of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan.
In his solemn speech, Chairman of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan Adilet Kubanychbekov noted that the signing of a memorandum of understanding with WCO will provide an effective impetus to improve the entire customs system of the country.
"For more effective professional training of law enforcement canine units, as well as to improve information exchange, today with our partners with the World Customs Organization, we are establishing a regional training center of the World Customs Organization on the basis of the training and specialization unit of the Customs Service," he said.
Adilet Kubanychbekov also expressed gratitude to Kunio Mikuriya, thw WCO Secretary General for the fruitful work during his visit to Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope that the bilateral cooperation will certainly give impetus to the comprehensive development of the customs system of Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, Kunio Mikuriya stressed that Kyrgyzstan, due to its good location at the crossroads of the north and east, can effectively interact with all international partners, and the opening of the regional training center of the World Customs Organization will only contribute to development.
Further, as part of the signing of the memorandum, the country's customs officials showed the work of the service dogs in action.
