We feel happy and excited that next WNG will take place in Turkey – Hamza Yerlikaya

Baktuu-Dolonotu, Sept. 09, 2018. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Turkey Hamza Yerlikaya received the totem of the World Nomad Games – kookor vessel filled with glacier water – from Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev.

This ritual has become a symbol of passing the right to hold the World Nomad Games from one country to another. Upon its completion, the honorable guest greeted the viewers of the ceremony on behalf of the Turkish people, as well as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Having expressed gratitude to the organizational committee of the Games, he noted that the competitions that passed have become the revitalization of the ancestors’ legacy and brought together thousands of people with the spirit of unity and creation.

“The competitions, which have been taking place here, have a much deeper meaning than mere sports event. They reflect the legacy of our ancestors and contribute to strengthening brotherly relations. We feel happy and excited that the next Games will take place in our country - Turkey. We are proud that we are taking over the opportunity to maintain and spread the nomadic culture, for which we express our respect to Kyrgyzstan”, Yerlikaya said in his address.

The Fourth World Nomad Games are to take place in Turkey in 2020. This decision was made during the negotiations between the Presidents of the two countries on September 1 of this year, the Presidents mentioned in their joint statement before the press after the bilateral negotiations in Ala-Archa State Residence on the first day of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan. The President of Turkey, along with his spouse, also took part in the official opening ceremony of the Third World Nomad Games, which was held on September 2.
