Bishkek, June 20, 2020. /Kabar/. We must be prepared for a possible worsening of the epidemiological situation in the country due to coronavirus infection, Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov said Saturday, the Government’s press service reported.
"Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the current socio-economic and epidemiological situation is becoming more complicated. Daily increase in number of cases of citizens’ infection with coronavirus infection, especially difficult situation in cities of Bishkek, Osh and Chui Oblast is observed. At the same time, the regions are not doing enough to control the situation. As noted at a meeting of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, governors are personally responsible for the epidemiological situation in the entrusted territories," Kubatbek Boronov said.
The Security Council decided to ensure proper epidemiological surveillance on territory of the republic.
"All the tasks specified in its decision must be carried out qualitatively, in full and on time. Each state body and each oblast should implement a set of preparatory measures for the autumn-winter period. In addition, a number of measures will be taken in view of the increase in the incidence of COVID-19.
Thus, it is planned to stop the movement of public transport in Bishkek on Saturday afternoon and Sunday for the whole day. The issue of restricting inter-regional public transport is also under consideration. Taxis, private cars and heavy vehicles will move freely," the prime minister added.
Boronov stressed that every citizen is responsible for his health and that of his relatives. He urged all citizens to be especially careful in public places and to observe sanitary rules.
