Bishkek, Aug. 19, 2021 . / Kabar / . “We should strive for a real free electricity market, providing coverage of the total state balance of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU),” Chairman of the Board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) Artem Novikov said at the 3rd Kyrgyz-Russian Business Forum.
According to him, the food crisis, shortage of water resources, reduction of crop yields and prices on the world markets lead to an overflow of food and agricultural products from domestic markets to third countries.
Novikov noted that in this context, the concept of forming a single food balance of the EAEU and the priority provision of domestic markets to avoid food shortages and a sharp rise in prices in the EAEU come to the fore.
“It is necessary to forecast future consumption, taking into account the growth of economies and business development. We have to strive for a real free electricity market, ensuring coverage of the total state balance of the EAEU," Artem Novikov urged.
The head of the RKDF added that Kyrgyzstan and Russia have been members of the EAEU for six years. Along with other members of the Union, the countries declare and promote four degrees of freedom: of capital, goods, services and labor.
