Bishkek, Apr. 4, 2019. /Kabar/. There is no drinking water in Shoro village, Naryn region, representative of the village Rakhat Kytapov told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
According to him, in 2004, funds were allocated for water supply for the Islamic Development Bank project, but the Taza Suu project could not fully implement it.
"Why did it happen? Because little money was allocated, the system was built poorly. We also have a very rainy season every spring and autumn, which often causes mudflows, and the water system is filled with mud. Also, as the name of the village speaks for itself, salt water flows here (Shoro – saline). Attempts were made to reconstruct the system several times, but it required a lot of money, and the system was still filled with mud. We wanted to make repairs with the help of the local population, but again there is not enough money. We have prepared a project to supply water to the village from the source, for this we appeal to the government and are looking for donors. There is no kindergarten in the village, because there is no clean drinking water. We are worried about the health of the population, young people are leaving for other places,” Kytapov complained.
According to him, there is not enough irrigation water in the village, there is no thought-out irrigation system. “The population wants to expand and develop arable land, but the problem of lack of irrigation water does not allow them to realize their plans. In addition, there is no Internet and roads in the village, we have no choice but to solve the problems and keep in touch with the world only through the telephone,” Kytapov added.
As the headman of Chon-Kyzyl-Suu village (formerly Svetlaya Polyana) of Dzheti-Oguz region Kubat Totubaev, in turn, said, his village has been neglected for many years. “The village has good potential for the development of tourism and crafts, but there is no infrastructure. In summer, the village is buried in dust due to the lack of asphalt; women have to dry their laundry indoors. Our village is the closest to Kumtor deposit, there are reserves of greenstone, and there are also hot springs. In order to develop this, it is necessary to attract investors, but so far there are none,” Totubaev complained.
According to him, the residents have taken loans in order to supply water to the houses, but due to the fact that the pipes are thin, the water does not reach. Now it is difficult to repay loans, and there is still no water. And we would like to develop ethno-tourism in our country, open holiday hotels,” Totubaev shared.
