Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2018. /Kabar/. “Our task is to increase interaction and contacts between the countries of TurkPA in all areas. And then we will leave our descendants strong and independent Turkic-speaking states,” Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Dastanbek Dzhumabekov said at the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking States in Izmir.
“Within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking States, we have achieved progress in solving a number of substantive problems. In particular, TurkPA has become a kind of unique platform for the development of inter-parliamentary interaction. It is our duty to preserve and strengthen our interaction. Our historical connection, common culture will contribute to solving complex issues,” Dzhumabekov said.
He noted the effectiveness of the interaction of parliaments of Turkic-speaking countries within TurkPA over the ten years.
“The possibility of creating a full-fledged format for further development of cooperation was discussed at the Assembly Council. At the same time, this platform allows to increase inter-parliamentary cooperation between the members of TurkPA and the observer countries of the organization,” the Speaker said, and referred to the cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Hungary as an example.
In addition, Dzhumabekov noted the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries.

Within the framework of the plenary session of TurkPA, other heads of parliaments of the participating countries also presented their reports. Thanking the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastanbek Dzhumabekov for chairing TurkPA, the heads of parliaments of the participating countries wished fruitful work to the head of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Binali Yıldırım, who received the chairmanship in TurkPA. Following the plenary session, the Izmir Declaration was signed.
A parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov was on a working visit to Izmir (Republic of Turkey) on November 20-21 to participate in events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking States. The parliamentary delegation included the following deputies: Salaydin Aidarov, Kaldarbek Baymuratov, Abylkaiyr Uzakbayev, Sadik Sher-Niyaz, Iskender Matraimov.
