Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2024. /Kabar/. Members of the Kyrgyz weightlifting team Emil Moldodosov, Nursultan Tarmalov and Tatyana Melnichenko won prizes at the Asian Championships in Tashkent.
The Department of Physical Culture and Sports reported that Moldodosov competed in the weight category up to 89 kg. In the clean and jerk he lifted a barbell weighing 162 kg, and in the snatch - 190 kg. The total result of 352 kg allowed him to take 3rd place and win a bronze medal.
Tarmalov competed in the weight category up to 96 kg. He lifted 149 kg in the clean and jerk and 198 kg in the snatch. The overall result was 333 kg, and the athlete took the final 3rd place, winning a bronze medal.
Melnichenko competed in the weight category up to 76 kg, where a total of 8 athletes were entered.
The athlete was able to show a result of 219 kg and took the final 3rd place, winning a bronze award.
In the snatch, the Kyrgyzstani lifted a barbell weighing 97 kg and won small silver.
