Bishkek, Nov. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. In October of this year, compared to December of the previous year, prices for food products and soft drinks in the whole country increased by 9.6%, according to Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistics Committee.
The highest price increases were observed for garlic - 1.6 times, sand sugar - 27.4%, vegetable oils - 25.0%, fresh fruit - 16.9%, buckwheat - 16.0% and fresh meat – 15,9%, flour - by 15.6%, potatoes - by 15.1%, pasta - by 15%, chicken eggs - by 7.1 %, natural honey - by 5.8 %, soft drinks - by 5.3 %, hard cheeses - by 4.4 % and rice - by 4.0 %.
Meanwhile, prices for following groceries have decreased significantly since the beginning of this year - fresh vegetables (by 21.8%), millet (by 7.0%), draft milk (by 6.6%), frozen fish (by 6.1%), salted herring (by 1.9%) and nonfat cottage cheese (by 1.7%).
In this October, compared to the previous month, prices for food products and soft drinks as a whole in the country increased by 4 %.
At the same time, prices for edible vegetable oils increased by 17.9%, animal and vegetable fats - by 14.5%, sand sugar - by 12.4%, potatoes - by 7.1%, mutton - by 6.3%, beef - by 6.1%, chicken eggs - by 5, 3 percent, natural honey - by 4.8 percent, draft unpasteurized milk - by 2.8 percent, baikhovi black tea - by 1.6 %, noodles - by 1.6 %, mineral water - by 1.5 %, bread from wheat flour of the 1st grade - by 1.2 %.
Additionally, compared to the previous month, in October this year there was a decrease in prices for lemons (by 2.1%), millet (by 1.3%), buckwheat (by 1.1%), natural instant coffee (by 0.3%) and creamy ice cream (by 0.2%).
