Bishkek, April 28, 2022. / Kabar /. Director of the Department of Health Policy and Systems for the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Dr. Natasha Azzopardi Muskat, visited Kyrgyzstan to get acquainted with the country's healthcare system, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During this visit, on April 28, 2022, she met with Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliev and exchanged views on the development of the country's health sector, outlined priority areas for interaction in the near future, aimed at improving the health of the country's population.
The minister expressed hope for further assistance from WHO in improving the mechanisms for planning and financing health services based on the needs of the population, taking into account international experience.
In turn, Dr. Natasha Azzopardi Muscat thanked the Minister and assured that WHO would always remain a reliable partner in the field of healthcare.
In addition, Dr. Natasha Azzopardi Muskat visited the Family Medicine Center No. 4 in Bishkek, where she got acquainted with the work of medical personnel and talked with patients who receive treatment at the institution.
She also held a number of meetings with development partners of the country and discussed ongoing joint work on the prevention of infectious and non-communicable diseases, strengthening human and scientific potential in the health sector.
