Bishkek, Oct. 28, 2021 / Kabar /. The purpose of the mission of the World Health Organization (WHO), conducted in Kyrgyzstan from 11 to 29 October, was to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health of the country to build national capacity in the field of maternal and child health.
According to the press service of the organization, within the framework of the mission, experts from WHO and the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan conducted training courses on effective perinatal care, a WHO pocket guide for providing inpatient care for children. In addition, an assessment of service delivery in 10 pilot facilities was carried out in order to identify problem areas that need improvement and develop appropriate action plans.
The preliminary results of the baseline assessment of pilot hospitals were presented during a meeting of the National Steering Group and project partners with the participation of more than 60 representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and subordinate organizations, development partners and international WHO experts.
During the meeting, Deputy Ministry of Health Zhalalidin Rakhmatullaev expressed gratitude to all members of the WHO mission and national partners for the work done and gratitude to the WHO recommendations to improve the quality of service delivery for maternal and child health in Kyrgyzstan.
The head of the WHO country office in Kyrgyzstan, Nazira Artykova, in turn, emphasized that WHO will continue to remain a reliable partner for Kyrgyzstan and support the efforts of the country's government to strengthen the strengthening and further development of hospital care to reduce the incidence and mortality of mothers, newborns and children in Kyrgyzstan.
