Wildflowers bloom in nature reserve in Naryn

Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2020 / Kabar /. Wildflowers bloom on the territory of the Karatal-Zhapyryk state natural reserve in Naryn Oblast en masse, the press service of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of the Kyrgyz Republic (SAEPF) reported.

The general condition of the vegetation is satisfactory. Currently, only a few plants are in the flowering and partial fruiting stage. More than 1 thousand 200 species of plants have been registered here, of which 50 species are medicinal and 2 species (Semenov's onion, four flat tulip) are included in the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan, the report said.

The State Agency’s employees constantly carry out explanatory work with local residents, urging them to respect the environment, flora and fauna, and also keep records and monitor the increase or decrease of certain rare species of wild animals and plants.

The total area of ​​the Karatal-Zhapyryk State Nature Reserve is 36 thousand 392.6 hectares. Of these, the reserve zone is 6 thousand 111.9 hectares, the nuclear zone is 24 thousand 522 hectares and the buffer zone is 5 thousand 758.7 hectares, the report said.

The Karatal-Japyryk State Nature Reserve is located in Naryn Oblast of Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 1994 with a purpose of conservation of unique nature complexes, protection of rare and threatened species of flora and fauna of Central Tien-Shan, and maintain regional environmental balance.
