Within 1.5 months, COVID-19 hospitals will appear in all regions: PM Boronov

Bishkek, July 29, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov told about the Government's preparations for the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic.

During a briefing at the Government House, the prime minister said a 1,306-bed inpatient center has been established near Manas Airport at a former military base.

In addition, he recalled that the construction of a hospital for at least 100 beds has been launched in the cities of Bishkek and Osh.

"Inpatient centers will appear in all 7 oblasts of the country. These will be refurbished existing buildings. In particular, there are plans to open a hospital for more than 200 beds in Osh Oblast. All the hospitals will be provided with intensive care wards and resuscitation rooms. In Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, a hospital will appear in the building of a 304-bed vocational lyceum, in Batken Oblast in the building of a 90-bed polyclinic, in Chui Oblast - for 100 beds and in Naryn Oblast - for 120 beds. In Talas Oblast, there will be a 192-bed inpatient center, a hospital for 200 places will appear in Issyk-Kul Oblast," Boronov said.

The head of the government noted the buildings were selected by governors together with specialists.

It is planned to overhaul all the buildings and bring them into compliance with requirements. The hospitals are to be prepared within 1-1.5 months.
