Bishkek, May 6, 2021. / Kabar /. Work to restore the damaged infrastructure in Batken Oblast is in full swing, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Artem Novikov said.
The the working group is working operativly on all the damaged facilities.
“We will do everything so that our citizens can soon return to their usual life,” he said.
Over 100 buildings were burnt or damaged, 36 people were killed, 189 injured in Kyrgyzstan as a result of the clashes at the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border on April 28-30.
The situation on the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan near the Golovnoy water intake facility escalated on April 28, after clashes had sparked between residents of the two countries’ border areas. On April 29, clashes between Kyrgyz and Tajik servicemen broke out. Tajik sides used mortars, machine guns and Mi-24 military helicopters. A ceasefire was established between the countries on May 1.
