Working trip of President Jeenbekov to Osh city - photo report

Bishkek, June 11, 2020. /Kabar/. Yesterday, June 10 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov arrived in Osh Oblast for his two-day working trip.

On the first day of the trip, the President honored the memory of those who died on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the tragic events in June 2010.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov laid flowers at the Tears of Mothers memorial complex in Osh. A memorial prayer was recited.

The President talked with relatives of the victims and the events participants. He stressed that the tragic days of June are a reminder of the need to preserve the integrity of the state and inter-ethnic harmony.

Jeenbekov also visited the Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush automobile plant, which will provide jobs for up to 5,000 people and produce electric buses in the future.

In addition, he familiarized with the implementation of the clean water project, which will provide access to clean drinking water in 10 communities, or more than 20 thousand residents of Japalak rural district in Osh city.

The President once again noted that projects to provide the population with clean drinking water are a priority in the framework of the state policy on regional development of the country.

The Kyrgyz leader got acquainted with the project on improvement, landscaping and strengthening of Ak Buura River banks in Osh city.

Osh Mayor Taalaibek Sarybashov said the necessary work is planned to begin in 2020.

The total estimated cost of the project is KGS 325 million. Funding is expected from the republican and local budgets. The works will be carried out on a total area of 5.5 km².

At the end of the first day of the working trip, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov held a meeting with relatives of those who died during the June events and representatives of public organizations created subsequently after the tragic events.
