Workshop on vital statistics for countries of North and Central Asia held in Bishkek

Bishkek, Oct. /, 2019 / Kabar /. An international seminar on vital statistics for countries of North and Central Asia is being held in Bishkek from October 7 to 11, the press service of the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The event is supported by the European Free Trade Association, the Central Statistical Bureau of Norway and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

The seminar is attended by representatives of national statistics services, civil registration authorities and ministries of health, as well as international experts and development partners.

The main goal of the seminar is to increase the potential of the countries of North and Central Asia in the production, dissemination and presentation of statistics on vital movements of the population, as well as the exchange of experience between the participating countries.

During the seminar, participants will gain knowledge on strengthening cooperation between departments involved in civil registration, production and dissemination of statistics on vital movements.

In addition, participants will familiarize themselves with international recommendations for improving the content of publications containing statistics on the vital movement of the population, as well as on disseminating these data in a user-friendly way.
