World Bank allocates USD 150 mln to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 20, 2022. / Kabar /. Representatives of the World Bank held a series of meetings with the Kyrgyz delegation headed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues, including development priorities and World Bank support for human capital and energy reforms in the country, including the development of renewable energy sources, the WB press service said.

Particular attention was paid to private sector development and protection of vulnerable populations. New financing agreements were signed for two projects:

- $50 million for a project to develop Batken Oblast;

- $100 million for a project to improve water services resistant to climate change.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov is in Washington, DC for a working trip.
