Osh, Feb. 28, 2022 . / Kabar / . Bishkek hosted a meeting of the World Bank's Supervisory Board for the Regional Economic Development Project in Osh Oblast and Osh city. First deputy mayor of Osh attended the meeting of the WB Supervisory Board.
At the meeting it was decided to implement the following projects in Osh:
1.Construction of tourist and architectural installations on municipal land around the Ibraimov National Drama Theater;
2. Reconstruction of the summer theater in the park named after Toktogul Satylganov;
3.Construction of a recreation area in one part of the Alisher Navoi Park;
4. Reconstruction of the central square of Osh;
5. Design and construction of works (2nd stage) on sanitary cleaning, landscaping and planting of the banks of the Ak-Buura river in Osh city.
The funds allocated for the development of the tourism industry in Osh will amount to $6 million. The projects will be implemented through the Community Development Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic (ARIS).
The objective of the Regional Economic Development Project is to support the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to enhance regional economic development through targeted interventions in tourism and agriculture in Osh Oblast.
The Project will support economic and regional development in an integrated manner in Osh Oblast and Osh city by creating jobs, reducing poverty, creating and developing an agricultural value-added system and promoting the tourism industry.
