Bishkek, May 30 / Kabar /. The World Bank is ready to support the digital transformation of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia of the proposed Digital CASA project, Lily Burunchuk, the World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia said at the International Conference on the Discussion of the Taza Koom Project.
She said that Central Asia was previously the center of not only trade, but also culture, where new technologies developed.
"In order to Central Asia to be connected with the whole world and for a short period purposefully reintegrating to the world economy, the World Bank is ready to support the Digital CASA program. This project can become one of the engines for the development and implementation of the Taza Koom project. And we strongly support this program and the government’s vision of the digital future. Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan will be the first to join the Digital CASA program. And the ultimate goal of this program is to provide reliable and affordable ICT services," she said.
Burunchuk said that the digital transformation will enable regions access to mobile and broadband Internet.
"Also the program will connect small and medium-sized enterprises and their employees with regional and global economies, stimulate innovation in both the public and private sectors," the representative of the World Bank added.
